Connor Sports Named Official Court Of NABC Convention
Five-Year Partnership includes Presenting Sponsorship of the NABC Convention Guardians of the Game Leadership Award through 2020

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 18, 2016) – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today announced that Connor Sports has been named Official Court of the NABC Convention through 2020.

The five-year agreement also includes the Guardians of the Game Leadership Award presented by Connor Sports® to be presented at the 2016 AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show Sunday, April 3 in Houston.

The Guardians of the Game is a national awareness and education program of the NABC. The goal of the program is to focus attention on the positive aspects of basketball and the role coaches play in the lives of student-athletes, in addition to the contributions coaches make to their communities. Previous Guardians of the Game Leadership Award recipients include Dave Gavitt, Eddie Sutton and Lorenzo Romar.

“NABC is excited to partner with Connor Sports for our annual convention. Connor Sports is an industry leader and longtime supporter of college basketball and truly aligns with the NABC as Guardians of the Game,” said Reggie Minton, deputy executive director of the NABC.

As an additional element of the five-year partnership with the NABC, Connor Sports will also provide and install a 112 feet x 60 feet QuickLock court at the NABC convention that will be used for coaching clinics and other coach-led basketball activities.

“Connor Sports is extremely proud to be a sponsor of the NABC Convention and Guardians of the Game Leadership Award,” said Doug Grove, Director of Sales at Connor Sports. “As the industry leader in hardwood basketball courts, as a Champion of Sport, Connor Sports embraces an unwavering dedication to supporting the game of basketball and the people devoted to making the game great in every way.”

Located in Kansas City, Missouri, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest “Phog” Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men’s basketball coaches. All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today’s student-athletes. The four core values of being a Guardian of the Game are advocacy, leadership, service and education. Additional information about the NABC, its programs and membership, can be found at
